Proposed Course Description

September 3, 10, 17 and 24:
Unit (1): Stephanie Forrest (CS) and Jim Brown (Biology)
Variety of topics related to convergent emergent phenomena in the processing of energy and information in biological, social, and technological systems
[Due to scheduling conflict on Wednesdays, some or all sessions in this unit will almost certainly be scheduled for Mondays]

Unit (2): Nitant Kenkre (Physics) and Bob Parmenter (Biology)
Theoretical and empirical aspects of disease dynamics
[note: Fall Break is October 16-17. Class on Wednesday Oct 15th TBA]

Unit (3): Sherry Nelson (Anthropology) and Blair Wolf (Biology)
Techniques from different disciplines that can be applied to determining diet of living and fossil animals.
